Nellie’s hair is a shade of reddish chestnut brown, if not a bit darker, and rather on the curly side. She’s always wearing it up in two ratty buns on the top of her head with strands hanging down all over, making it look quite a bit of a mess. It could be considered quite untidy, but the woman believes she looks well in the style and as such keeps it the way it is.
Mrs Lovett figure is one that shouldn't be considered plain, she in fact has a nice shape and curves in the right places. Then again, she also has a tendency to wear corsets which only helps to add to her hourglass shape. Along with her beloved dark colored corsets the woman is always wearing a long skirt and some sort of fingerless, elbow length gloves.
Her skin is quite white from spending too much time indoors and since it hardly ever shines sunlight in London it gives her naturally light complexion an even more pasty appearance, and with the dark circles that have made home around her eyes, it gives her a more haunted, gaunt look that makes her appear older than she normally would be.
A Long Time Ago, Longer Now Then It Seems
History::
Nellie was born and raised in London, much to her utter dismay, to her the city was always a wretched and boring place. There was never any of the excitement she read about in books and from the time she was a young girl she could always be found in a state of a daydream, her imagination was always running wild in an attempt to keep from giving into the boredom that suffocated her in the city.
To keep her from getting into trouble, her mother put her to start baking, which Nellie took a quick liking to, finding that it was a good way to work out her feelings. Still though it didn't exactly do much to keep the girl from trouble completely, no she still made time for her little adventures of running through the woods and getting into places she wasn't supposed to be, but she simply couldn't help herself the girl just had too much energy and even more curiosity for the world around her.
And one day, on one of her many 'adventures' around town she came across a boy named Benjamin Barker, and at first glance the girl was completely smitten with him, but to say that Nellie wasn't his type would have been the understatement of the year, after all even if he had ever paid attention to her, well it would never have been thought of as a suitable pairing. She was a tomboy of a girl from a family that just barely scraped by, and he....well he was just too good for her.
Eventually, in her late twenties Nellie settled on the first man to actually ask for her hand in marriage, though she quickly grew to dislike the man. Albert was a good few years older then her, the only shape he kept in was round, and didn't want children. Things, as far as Nel was concerned couldn't have been any worse for her, and then what probably could have been one of the happiest things to happen, did. Benjamin and that silly little wife of his moved into the place she was renting upstairs.
Suddenly life just seemed so much better, it was easier to wake up in the mornings knowing she had a chance of having a conversation with the man that she had been so smitten with all her life. Things went along like this for a time, and though Nellie was so very jealous when Johanna was born, she quickly grew to adore the little girl. All was well as far as she was concerned, the best she could get she supposed until the day that Lucy came running to her in tears and sprouting this and that about drinking poison. Only when she fully explained what had happen did Nellie understand.
She tried talking the hysterical woman out of it, but she was far past reassuring words by now. She'd told her that she had Johanna to look after, that she still had so much to live for- he'd come back some day. But Lucy wouldn't listen to her, and so she went missing... And quite honestly, Nellie could have cared less. Instead of dwelling on Lucy, Nellie took care of Johanna until Turpin came and wrestled the girl out of her arms one night. Fortunately, after Lucy had disappeared, she'd hidden Ben's razors beneath the floorboard knowing that he would return one day.
One day not long after, Albert suffered a severe heart attack and dropped dead, and Nellie mourned for all of two days, after all she hadn't liked the man very much to begin with. That and in reality it had been the poison she had slipped into his evening glass of gin that had sent the man to meet his maker. Of course when the police had come by to look into it, the woman simply blamed it on a heart attack stating the fact that the man ate and drank more then he moved and that was that.
Fifteen long, lonely years later, who else showed up on her doorstep than dear old Benjamin- no, Sweeney Todd, it was, now. After the year she'd had with him, sticking by his side through thick and thing, covering up after him, telling harmless little lies, all there is to do now is to get him to move on and perhaps that way they can have their lovely little life by the sea the way she's always wanted it to be for them.
